DescriptionFor the last 15 years, the Community Management team in SURFnet has been engaging with the research communities based in the Netherlands to understand their needs and provide the proper network services to meet their requirements. Community management for R&E in SURFnet forms the bridge between the network and the user by working with lead users, early adopters, and educational and research support staff in research and/or pilot projects.
From lightpaths for end-users to NWO roadmaps, SURFnet has had a rich history of engaging with the Dutch research community, for which some models had more success or revealed different opportunities.
This presentation will discuss some examples of SURFnet’s research engagement strategies from before to now, and where we are headed.
