DescriptionModern and future networks are becoming increasingly more complex. As a consequence, it is even more difficult and costly to operate such networks. To tackle this challenge, machine learning (ML) is a potential technique. In this talk, an introduction to ML fundamentals will be provided. Then, how machine learning may be applied to ease network operation and management and to make network resource utilisation more efficiently will be discussed. In the final part, challenges of applying ML to network operations will be highlighted, together with an outlook on its future development.
