QKD and Quantum Communication activities in NRENs

DescriptionQuantum communication and Quantum Key Distribution as one of examples and use cases for quantum communication received significant support in the form of National and EC programs. The technologies as part of larger quantum technologies initiative potentially offer new ways of communication and services especially for quantum computing infrastructure. NRENs as a community take part directly and indirectly in these initiatives and support the development through various testbeds and use cases, nationally and within the GÉANT 4-3 project.The talk will present the latest NRENs achievements in GN4-3 WP6 T1 activities and goals especially in view of different programs. Moreover the contribution will focus on other important aspects in the field - education and the approach of GÉANT eAcademy has chosen with a main goal - to spread awareness of this emerging technology.
