BioWenche Backman-Kamila was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1978. She received her M.Sc. from Helsinki University of Technology in 2003. She joined the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT) in 2003, where she worked as a Research Scientist focusing on radio resource management in WLAN.  
Since 2008 she has been with CSC – the Finnish IT Center for Science. Her areas of expertise include wireless systems and WLAN roaming. From 2012 to 2016 she was at home developing her organisation and leadership skills by taking care of her two children. She returned to CSC in the autumn of 2016 and has since then been responsible for the wireless team.
