Descriptiongeteduroam increases network security at the backend by removing the necessity to connect the internal user database of an eduroam organisation to the eduroam infrastructure. With this requirement gone, there is actually no need for an institution to maintain their own RADIUS server, which will lead to significant cost savings.
geteduroam also provides user onboarding through Apps, and end users can get eduroam by logging in using their federated identity. In this case a user certificate (which is thereafter used for authentications to eduroam) is created on the device.
