BioProject Leader of the new Digital Humanities Lab Denmark, hosted at Aarhus University, I am affiliated with the Department of Aesthetics and Communication, Faculty of Humanities. However, DIGHUMLAB has four university partners, Aalborg University, Aarhus University, the University of Copenhagen, and the University of Southern Denmark.  DIGHUMLAB is part of the CLARIN, TELEARC and DARIAH research infrastructure networks and currently has three research themes, in language based materials and tools, media tools, and interaction and design studies. I am also one of the two VCC 2 task heads for and part of my role involves working with EU research infrastructures and projects.
My previous role was Associate Professor and Director of Postgraduate Studies and Research at the Auckland School of Design, Massey University, and I worked for Digital (DEC) and Compaq and Hansen Technologies. My research is in the area of visualization, virtual heritage and game-based learning. My recent books are Playing with the Past (Springer, 2011), and Game Mods: Design, Theory and Criticism (ETC Press, 2012). I am also on the editorial boards of journals in architectural computing, virtual reality, game-based learning and virtual worlds, and digital humanities.
