TrackTrack 1 -- Lecture Hall X on the First Floor
DateWednesday, 24 September 2014
Time12:00 - 13:30
DescriptionThe campus networks are in transition. As they
are growing larger and more complex, there appears
novel needs to interconnect users and services
as transparently as possible to remote locations
and other domains.
Users are getting more and more mobile, too.
It's time to accept the fact that wired connectivity
has been replaced by wireless for the majority of users
for good.
The requirement of green ICT is influencing heavily
on the campus network development. It may be easy to deploy devices which consume less electricity,
but how do you measure the overall progress?
This session will explore these challenges with
three presentations. Network as-a-service by
automatic provisioning is suggested as a solution
for campus networks. Experiences of wireless campus
network development are shared and a maturity model
of green ICT will be disclosed.
