BioSigurd Næss-Schmidt is a Partner in charge of Climate, Energy and Natural Resources and Finance and Macro services.  Since 2011, Sigurd has been responsible for over 100 projects for public and private clients mainly in the Northern Europe region as well as EU institutions.  This includes a large number of projects on climate policy and exploitation of natural resources, reviewing tax policies, support for renewable energy and other regulation and evaluating the effect on economic welfare, jobs, public finances, income distribution and other key societal parameters.
 
Prior to joining Copenhagen Economics, Sigurd worked for the Danish Ministry of Finance, the OECD and the EU Commission. Sigurd has a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Copenhagen and he has taught Economics both at the University of Copenhagen and the Copenhagen Business School. Sigurd was head of the Danish delegation to the Economic Policy Committee of the ECOFIN Council of the European Union and led a working group on globalisation.
