DescriptionWe are intimately familiar with trust in our day-to-day lives. As individuals living in complex societies, life is a constant sequence of trust decisions. Indeed only a fraction of these will we take consciously; it is an essential part of the human condition.

Yet increasingly our lives are becoming digitised and connected. However it has proven challenging to translate the subtleties of trust that we develop and manage in 'real life' within the online environment. This has resulted in many negative outcomes, impeding the use of the network for applications where specific types of trust are required.

In this presentation, the author will discuss and reflect on strategies to enable a richer and more sophisticated online trust environment.
